"So, if the Qrephs had a seat on the committee, they could influence which beacons to repair—and where to place new ones. And even if they failed to win the vote, they would know the committee's plans."
―Omad Kaeg, speculating on why the Qreph brothers sought his founder's share in the miners' cooperative[1]

The RiftMesh Committee, informally known as the 'Mesh Committee, oversaw the operation of the RiftMesh, a communications network serving the Chiloon Rift[1] in Wild Space.[2] The body directed repairs and expansion of the network, with representation and voting rights granted to holders of a founder's share in the Chiloon Rift miners' support cooperative.[1] In 45 ABY, the Columi brothers Craitheus and Marvid Qreph ordered the Mandalorian mercenary Scarn to pressure tug captain Omad Kaeg into surrendering his founder's share. The attempt failed, but Kaeg and his associate Lando Calrissian suspected the brothers sought the share to gain influence over the RiftMesh Committee and track the placement of RiftMesh beacons, so as to keep their secret operation in the Chiloon Rift hidden.[1]

Behind the scenes

The RiftMesh Committee was referenced in the 2013 Star Wars Legends novel Crucible, written by Troy Denning.[1]
