- "Yellow Group, this is Yellow Leader. Congratulations on a job well done. You did something incredible today."
- ―Ribeiro, to Yellow Squadron, after the Battle of Endor
Captain Ribeiro was a pilot who was the leader of the Rebel Alliance's Yellow Squadron during its war against the Galactic Empire. She chose pilot Karie Neth over technician Lanna to fight with the starfighter squadron in the Battle of Endor.[1] In 4 ABY,[2] on the day of the battle, Lanna told Neth that Ribeiro had made the right choice.[1]
During the battle, after Ribeiro coolly ordered[1] her second-in-command, Lieutenant Malena, the two formed a protective screen over the entrance of the second Death Star space station's superstructure to prevent TIE fighters from pursuing those inside.[3] She instructed the rest of the squadron to clear the way for the Red and Gold Squadrons to exit the structure on the station's other side. After the Alliance won the battle, Ribeiro congratulated her squadron, informing those who needed repairs to return to the Alliance flagship Home One and the rest to head to the surface of the moon Endor for a celebration.[1]
Behind the scenes
Ribeiro was first mentioned in the 2021 reference book Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy.[3] Ribeiro's voice later appeared in the 2023 short story "The Extra Five Percent," written by M. K. England and published in the anthology From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi.[1]
