Rhodochrosite

Rhodochrosite,^[1] also known as Crait red salt, was a type of edible^[2] red crystal that made up most of the planet Crait. It was considered moderately valuable.^[1] The crystal was used as an ingredient for the Crait Butter Popped Grains.^[2]

Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Incredible Cross-Sections incorrectly spells the mineral's name as "rhodocrosite."^[4] A rhodochrosite crystal is able to be hung in the cockpit of a New Republic starfighter in the 2020 video game Star Wars: Squadrons for 800 of the game's in-game currency, glory.^[5] In the mission "The Healing Power of Crystals" in the non-canon video game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, rhodochrosite crystals are said to have healing powers which lose their potency after being mined.^[6] Rhodochrosite is found in the real world, where it ranges in shades from pink to pale brown (with its rare pure form being rose red.)
