The Retail Caucus was a corporate entity that existed during the final years of the Galactic Republic,[4] and was based on the planet Kerkoidia.[1] A wealthy,[4] but smaller organization that competed with the likes of the Commerce Guild and the Corporate Alliance,[3][1] the Caucus was nonetheless considered a powerful megacorporation.[5] It was one of the myriad corporate entities attracted into the command structure of the Confederacy of Independent Systems by Count Dooku's promises of unlimited pursuit of profits.[2] Like its fellow corporations,[6] the Retail Caucus reinforced the Confederacy's growing military with its private droid army,[3] which included its distinctive LR-57 combat/retail droids.[2] The Separatist army that fought in the Battle of Malastare included LR-57 combat droids.[7]
