- "You are aware that I maintain a network of... well-placed individuals who share information with me from time to time that might aid the Resistance?"
- ―C-3PO, to Poe Dameron
The Resistance spy droid network[7] was a group of droids across the galaxy used as spies for the Resistance during the Cold War. The network was run by C-3PO.[3]
Poe Dameron had the network look into who had placed a First Order tracking device on Black One before the mission to Ovanis.[1] During the Mission to Kaddak, a MSE-6 series repair droid has the information and downloaded into BB-8.[8] A short while later, after failing to activate the tracking device on BB-8, C-3PO had the network look out for the droid.[9] One of the droid spies, GA-97, located BB-8 in Takodana Castle, which allowed Resistance forces to arrive there in time for the Battle of Takodana.[5]
With the evacuation of D'Qar, C-3PO put the network into suspension, telling his droid agents to go underground.[7]
C-3PO later made contact with his droid contacts on Takodana in order to get ahold of Maz Kanata when Dameron, Finn and Rose Tico were coming up with a plan to disable the tracker on the Mega-class Star Dreadnought Supremacy.[10]
