A repulsor pack or repulsorlift pack was a personal conveyance device similar to a jetpack or rocket pack. Repulsor packs were powered by miniaturized repulsorlift generators that operated by pushing the device away from a gravity field, allowing the wearer to fly. Because the packs used repulsorlift technology, repulsor packs could not be operated in a zero-gravity environment. Repulsor packs offered their wearers a slow rate of movement compared to jetpacks or rocket packs, with a top speed of around forty kilometers an hour. Despite this limitation, repulsor packs were incredibly maneuverable and allowed the user to hover in place by applying a steady thrust. The pack's repulsorlift generators were powered by rechargeable energy cells that gave the device around ten minutes of flight time.[1]
