The Republic Defense Procurement Office, abbreviated as RDPO, was a civilian agency within the Galactic Republic that was responsible for acquiring and providing logistical support for the Republic Military during the Clone Wars against the Separatist Alliance. The office was also charged with stockpiling equipment as well as ensuring safe supply lines for frontline resupply from medical supplies to ammunition. For increased efficiency, reinforcements often provided security for convoys of transports.[1]
A sub-division of the procurement office was the Department of Naval Procurement, which was responsible for obtaining starships, supplies and technology for the Republic fleet. The department was overseen by the Galactic Senate's Procurement Panel of the Naval Subcommittee.[1]
