Rematching dinners were formal dinners undertaken by families of the Chiss species recognizing the acceptance of individuals from other families into the family performing the dinner. That process, known as rematching, was a means of Chiss joining other families as merit adoptives, Trial-borns, or in some cases even ranking distants.[1]
Kivu'raw'nuru would attend a Mitth welcoming ceremony where they held a rematching dinner at the event.[1]
Behind the scenes
Rematching dinners first appeared in flashbacks in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, written by Timothy Zahn as the final novel of Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
