Ran-D housekeeper droids were hovering droids that maintained living spaces. Mama the Hutt kept at least two Ran-D housekeeper droids at her household on Nal Hutta. She had the droids feed her at dinner time.[2] This type of droid also appeared in a cantina owned by an Ithorian bartender in the Bilbousa Bazaar on Nal Hutta.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Ran-D housekeeper droids are an homage to the flying robots of Industrial Light & Magic's 1987 film *batteries not included. This character was named after concept artist Randy Bantog.[3]
