Donovian rainmen worked in all weather conditions.
The rainmen were mechanics who repaired signal towers in all weather conditions[1] on the rainy planet Donovia. During the Separatist Crisis some Donovian rainmen became freighter trampers[2] and a group of at least three human rainmen traveled on board[3] the AA-9 Freighter-Liner Jendirian Valley while it transported refugees from the planet Coruscant to the planet Naboo[2] in 22 BBY.[4]
Behind the scenes
Rainmen first appeared in the 2002 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[3] In the current Star Wars canon, the term was first used in the "Starship Fact File" department of the 2015 magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 50,[2] which was written by Tim Veekhoven.[5] It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first used in the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by David West Reynolds.[6]
