Rahm Kota's name was carved into walls of the Mapuzo safehouse.

Rahm Kota was an individual whose name was carved in the Aurebesh script into the walls of a safehouse of the Hidden Path organization on the planet Mapuzo used to protect Force-sensitive individuals—including Jedi—from the Galactic Empire.[1] The safehouse was operated with the goal of getting the Force-sensitives to[2] the planet[3] Jabiim, where they would receive new identities.[2] By the time Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Princess Leia Organa used the safehouse[1] in 9 BBY,[4] Kota's name was carved into two distinct places on the safehouse's walls.[1]

Rahm Kota was first mentioned in Aurebesh in the current Star Wars canon in the trivia gallery of the episode guide for "Part III,"[5] the third episode of the live-action Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, which aired on June 1, 2022.[3] The trivia gallery established Kota's name to be one of the references to Jedi originating in the Star Wars Legends continuity whose names were carved into the walls of the safehouse for the episode,[5] but Kota's name is not visible in "Part III" itself.[2]

In the Legends continuity, Rahm Kota was created for the video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed,[6] released on September 16, 2008.[7] Kota's first appearance was in The Force Unleashed's novelization written by Sean Williams[8] and published on August 19, 2008.[9]
