R6-D23 was an R6 astromech droid operating in Bespin's Cloud City, maintaining starships. The droid was a typical R6, but also wore a blue cone-shaped hat with star and moon shapes. This astromech droid included a Herner optical holographic projector.[1]

Behind the scenes

This droid was a toy made available exclusively from Disney during the company's D23 Expo on August 9th-11th, 2024. It was made available on the Disney Store online starting August 12th.[2]

D23 is the company's official fan club named for the year of the company's founding, 1923. His hat is patterned after a hat worn by Mickey Mouse in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" segment of the animated film Fantasia.[1] The hat was also made available for Droid Factory's customizable figures, and was included with its R4-D23 and R5-D23 figures.[3]
