Que-Mars Redath-Gom was a Weequay Jedi during the last years of the Galactic Republic. He was raised independently from members of his species, causing him to not follow the Quay totem, which decided a Weequay's fate. Through not following the totem, Redath-Gom was able to become a Jedi Knight. He was killed during the First Battle on the planet Geonosis, where the Weequay was one of many Jedi who rescued the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and senator Padmé Amidala.

Biography

Que-Mars Redath-Gom was a Weequay member of the Jedi Order during the last years of the Galactic Republic[2] who grew up within the Jedi Temple[4] on the planet Coruscant.[5] As he was raised independently from other members of the Weequay species,[2] Redath-Gom did not follow the rules of the Quay totem, which was used to decide a Weequay's fate. Without it, however, he was able to become a Jedi Knight.[4]

In 22 BBY,[1] Redath-Gom joined[4] the group of Jedi by Jedi Master Mace Windu to rescue the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and senator Padmé Amidala from their scheduled execution by Separatist leaders[6] in the Petranaki arena[2] on the planet Geonosis.[4] The Jedi Knight fought gallantly during the battle,[4] but was killed. Both the memory of Redath-Gom and the fellow Weequay Jedi Kossex were unaccepted in the Weequay populace due to their unreliance of the Quay totem.[2]

Personality and traits

Redath-Gom served the Jedi Order faithfully.[4] He had black eyes, braided brown hair, and brown skin.[3]

Skills and abilities

Redath-Gom was above average in his intelligence, usage of the Force, strength, and speed. The Weequay had slightly-above average diplomacy skills and had a powerful fighting ability. During the First Battle of Geonosis, Redath-Gom fought gallantly.[4]

Equipment

The Jedi Knight wielded a green-bladed lightsaber. During the First Battle of Geonosis, Redath-Gom wore a white undertunic, a tan overtunic, a brown utility belt, tan pants, and brown boots. Over the ensemble, he wore a hooded brown cloak.[3]

Behind the scenes

Que-Mars Redath-Gom first appeared in the[6] 2002[7] prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[6] The character was first identified in the Star Wars Saga Daily Calendar 2003,[8] released on August 1, 2002.[9]
