"No, Purry. You can't play on the hyperdrive controls."
―Vukorah, to Purry[2]

Purry was a Loth-cat who, around 3 ABY, was owned by the bounty hunter Vukorah. The tooka was present on Vukorah's ship when she went to register for work with the hybroid Syphacc at Kirkeide Station. Before she departed, Vukorah told Purry they could not play on the ship's hyperdrive controls. Shortly after, Purry and Vukorah's other tookas accompanied her to the planet Epikonia where they helped rescue the bounty hunter T'onga from the Scourge entity.

Vukorah telling Purry that they cannot play on her ship's hyperdrive controls

Purry was[2] a Loth-cat.[1] Around 3 ABY,[4] during the Imperial Era, the tooka was among a[2] litter[1] of cats—including Furball Two,[2] Krynthia, and Losha[5]—that was acquired[1] by the human female Vukorah,[2] after[1] she left the Unbroken Clan criminal syndicate to start a fresh life[6] as a bounty hunter.[2] Purry shared their name with another Loth-cat named Purry who Vukorah had owned as a child until she was killed by[7] the Grand Leader of the Unbroken Clan.[8]

Vukorah was in need of work and used her ship to travel to Kirkeide Station where she planned to register with the hybroid Syphacc who ran Syphacc's Bountiful Bounties. The hunter told the cats to wish her luck, informing them that the blue milk they drank was not cheap. As Vukorah holstered a blaster pistol, she told Purry that they could not play on the ship's hyperdrive controls while she was gone.[2] After Vukorah helped[3] the bounty hunter Losha Tarkon[1] destroy droids that had been infected by the entity known as the Scourge, she, along with the tookas, and Tarkon traveled to[3] the world[1] Epikonia to rescue the latter's friends and wife T'onga.[3]

While on Epikonia, the group made their way to where T'onga was held captive, with Purry, as well as the other tookas, carrying a thermal detonator. Once they detonated the grenades, the cats attacked several Scourged cyborgs and[3] spider-droids,[9] earning praise from Vukorah, who told Purry and the tookas they were "good kitties" and that they would be rewarded with treats. After T'onga and her friends were saved, Vukorah and her tookas left Epikonia.[3]

Personality and traits

"Such good kitties! Mama's gonna give you all the treats!"
―Vukorah, to her tookas as they attack the Scourged cyborgs and spider-droids[3]

Purry liked to drink blue milk. They had silver skin,[2] black eyes,[3] lilac fur with dusty gold-colored accents, and a paler underbelly.[2] While on Epikonia, Vukorah called her tookas—including Purry—good cats and told them that she would reward them with treats for attacking the Scourged cyborgs and spider-droids.[3]

Purry first appeared in the thirty-ninth issue of the 2020 comic series Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. The issue was written by Ethan Sacks, illustrated by Davide Tinto, and published by Marvel Comics[2] on October 4, 2023.[10]

  4. The flashbacks of Star Wars (2020) 50 take place approximately twenty-two years after Sheev Palpatine's ascension to Emperor, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 19 BBY, meaning they must occur around 3 ABY. The flashbacks also take place after the events of Star Wars (2020) 43, which occur after the Star Wars: Dark Droids crossover event, an event StarWars.com Charles Soule Unleashes Dark Droids on StarWars.com (backup link) places after Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters, which is dated to 3 ABY by Timelines. As Bounty Hunters 39 and Bounty Hunters 41 are part of the Dark Droids event, their events must take place around 3 ABY.
