Prototype LH-44 was an experimental personal energy shield developed by the Tagge Corporation.[1] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[2] the prototype was utilized by Lady Domina Tagge—the company's leader—when she was attacked by a pair of KX-series security droids after they had been infected by the Scourge. The shield held against the droids fire, though ultimately failed due to an energy overload. Tagge then noted that the shield provided adequate personal protection but replicated the weakness of other energy fields.[1]
