Primus Base on the Expansion Region planet Shurrupak was used by generals during a conflict on the world around 68 BBY. Several Jedi—including Jedi Masters Elio and Dooku and Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn—were sent to Shurrupak. The group headed to the base after landing their shuttle nearby, and the latter two Jedi met with Jedi Knight Rael Averross, who had been waiting for them past the base's border gate.

Description

Primus Base was a military base located on[1] the Expansion Region[2] planet Shurrupak that featured a border gate. It was spacious enough to contain several stun cannon tanks and troop transports.[1]

In the Republic Era, it hosted several generals during a conflict on Shurrupak[1] around 68 BBY,[3] as well as Jedi Knight Rael Averross, who had been stationed there. Several Jedi were sent to the world to participate in an upcoming battle there, including Jedi Master Dooku and his Padawan, Qui-Gon Jinn, Jedi Master Elio, and others. The Jedi attended a pre-mission briefing explaining Primus Base's proximity to the battle's current front line—300 kilometers.[1]

Afterward, they made their way to Shurrupak on a shuttle, with Elio calling out to their colleagues when they were five minutes away from landing. As their ship set down on a nearby beach, the group rushed toward Primus Base's front gate, with Jinn attempting to hide his apprehension about the distance from their vessel to safety. Upon entering Primus Base, Averross greeted Dooku—his former Master—warmly. The Knight then introduced himself to Jinn and reminisced on having the same teacher, offering him some advice about Dooku. Meanwhile, Dooku stepped away to meet with the base's generals, causing Jinn to survey his surroundings and notice some nearby military vehicles. Eventually, the Jedi on Shurrupak left the world following the completion of their assignment.[1]

Primus Base appeared in a flashback in the 2019 novel Master & Apprentice, written by Claudia Gray.[1]
