- "Freighter One Seventeen, this is port control. State your business."
"Submitting our permits now."
"We read you, Freighter. Bay thirty-one is yours." - ―The port control worker and Sabé
The port control of the Mos Eisley spaceport on the Outer Rim planet Tatooine operated by the time of the Clone Wars. It managed traffic in and out of the spaceport by assigning docking bays.[1] By 22 BBY,[2] the port control had employed a worker to scan landing documents and give docking bay assignments to travelers, though the employee eventually became uninterested in their duties.[1]
That year,[2] the Naboo Sabé and Tonra talked with the worker via a comm unit as they approached Tatooine, hoping to land their vessel, Freighter One Seventeen, on the world. After processing the pair's documents, the port control worker assigned their freighter a landing space at bay thirty-one.[1]
Behind the scenes
The port control appeared in Queen's Hope,[1] a 2022 young-adult novel written by E. K. Johnston[3] as the third installment of Star Wars: Queen's Series.[1]
