"Play It Again, Figrin D'an: The Tale of Muftak and Kabe" is a short story written by A. C. Crispin from Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina, which was published by Bantam Spectra in August 1995. The story, about Muftak and Kabe, takes place in 0 BBY.

Plot summary

Muftak has long wondered about his origins, so when a passing Imperial identifies his species as Talz, the large furry biped's curiosity is piqued. Wanting to explore the galaxy beyond Tatooine, he agrees to his friend Kabe's long repeated request to rob Jabba the Hutt's town house. The two ragamuffins infiltrate the building, where they find a captive Rebel agent who promises them credits if they deliver a Datadot containing valuable Rebel intelligence. When security teams surround Muftak and Kabe and a house fire breaks out in the resulting gunfight, the two urchins leave the blaze without any riches, but pass on the datadot to a second Rebel agent. This secures them thousands of credits and passage off-world, allowing them to leave their lowly station.
