- "Master…what happened?"
"Well…I guess that pirate brew is stronger than we thought."
"I only took a sip."
"We were drugged, obviously." - ―Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as they wake up in a prison cell after drinking pirate brew
Pirate brew[2] was a green[1] alcoholic[2] beverage popular with the Weequay pirates of Hondo Ohnaka's Ohnaka Gang. During a banquet at their base on the planet Florrum celebrating the capture of Count Dooku, the pirates served this brew to the human Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in an attempt to drug them, but the Jedi used the Force to swap their drinks with those of a flanking Weequay and Kajain'sa'Nikto, who fell unconscious after imbibing.[1]
Behind the scenes
Pirate brew first appeared, albeit unidentified, in "Dooku Captured," the eleventh episode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' first season,[1] which originally aired on January 2, 2009,[3] and was identified by name in the following episode, "The Gungan General,"[2] which aired a week later on January 9.[4]
