Pinnoc trees were a type of tree from the homeworld of the targons, a species of large cat. During the Nihil marauders' attack on the Outer Rim planet Valo's Republic Fair[1] in 231 BBY,[2] the Jedi Master Stellan Gios reflected that the targon Matari climbed up the leg of a Rothana experimental walker as if it were a pinnoc tree.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, pinnoc trees were mentioned in the 2021 novel The High Republic: The Rising Storm, written by Cavan Scott[1] for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, pinnoc trees were introduced in Creatures of the Galaxy, a 1994 West End Games supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4]
