Pieto was a resident of Peka village on the world Batuu.[1] Around 379 BBY,[2] when Jedi Master Silandra Sho visited Peka, Pieto told her about a salmaca that had been raiding the homes of the villagers at night for valuables to line its nest. Sho then examined the salmaca's tracks and returned to the Batuu Jedi temple. The next day, Sho's Padawan, Rooper Nitani, arrived in Peka and spoke with Jerlyn, another villager. While explaining the village's problem with the salmaca to her, he told Nitani about her Master's conversation with Pieto the previous night.[1]

Pieto was mentioned in the short story "Shield of the Jedi," written by George Mann and published in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[1]
