Peermaid,[1] also spelled Peer Maid[2] was a traditional Chandrilan role in which young Chandrilan girls accompany noble offspring through their daily life. They often help with chores as well as provide friendship and guidance.[1] In 4 BBY, a number of Leida Mothma's peermaids attended her wedding with Stekan Sculdun at the Mothma Estate on Chandrila. On the first day of the wedding, Leida led a group of them to see her wedding gown.[3]
Behind the scenes
Peermaids first appeared, though unidentified in the eleventh episode, "Daughter of Ferrix", of the first season of the live-action series Star Wars: Andor. They were later identified in the subtitles and credits the first episode of the second season of the series, "One Year Later," which was released on Disney+[3] on April 22, 2025.[4] Two peermaids were included in the episode's credits, peermaid 1 and peermaid 2, portrayed by Brooke Holmewood and Nuala Peberdy respectfully.[3]
