The Peacekeepers were a Jedi faction that split from the Jedi Order centuries before[1] 3643 BBY,[2] dedicating themselves to nonviolence and contemplation. They produced many writings, the last of which were their greatest. These final writings were hidden in a chamber beneath the plaza fountains of their temple.[1] By 3643 BBY,[2] the tranquil Peacekeeper temple was deserted but had been rediscovered.[1]
By that year,[2] an individual associated with one of the two sides in the ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire sent a companion to investigate the temple. Exploring it, the companion discovered the hidden chamber beneath the fountains and delivered the last writings of the Peacekeepers to the individual who sent them.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Peacekeepers were mentioned in the Crew Skill Mission "The Peacekeepers" in the 2011 BioWare video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.[1] The mission was initially only available to Galactic Republic players[3] though both that restriction and the information about the mission's outcome are no longer a part of the game.[1]

Star Wars: The Old Republic — Archaeology Crew Skill mission: "The Peacekeepers"
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 2.2 2.3 Per the reasoning here, Act I of Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3643 BBY. Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "The Peacekeepers" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY. Furthermore, as "The Peacekeepers" establishes that the Peacekeepers split from the Jedi Order centuries before the mission occurs, that event must have happened several centuries prior to 3643 BBY.
