- "Of course. I haven't heard of Grand Admiral Thrawn, either. Certainly not in connection with the Chimaera. Or with some intriguing information raids on several systems in the Paonnid/Obroa-skai region, either."
- ―Talon Karrde
The Paonid system was a star system located within the Inner Rim of the galaxy.[1] The Paonnids were native to this system.[4] During the Galactic Civil War, the system was neutral following the Battle of Endor and was eager to join the New Republic during the Thrawn campaign.[5]
Behind the scenes
The Paonid system was first mentioned in the novel Heir to the Empire which used instinctively the spellings Paonnid and Paonidd.[4] Likely for simplification, later sources used the spelling Paonid.[5][6][1]
