Pani puri was a spherical light brown food found at a stall in the Golak Mahal[1] cantina[2] on[1] the small planet[3] Golak during the Imperial Era. It cost 70 rs and was served by an Aki-Aki. It was advertised on a blue sign with green text written in Aurebesh.[1]

Behind the scenes

"Imagine if you have a Pani Puri flying in Star Wars, it could be very interesting"
―Ishan Shulka, regarding the food[4]

Pani puri appeared in "The Bandits of Golak," a non-canon short film released as part of the second volume of the Star Wars: Visions series, written and directed by Ishan Shukla. The animated short, produced by 88 Pictures, was released on Disney+[1] on May 4, 2023.[5] Shulka worked with 88 Pictures to create a world with emphasis on food, fashion, and architecture. Some of the food they were inspired by alongside panipuri were chole and jalebi, which became le'bi.[4] In real life, panipuri is a type of Indian street food made of a crispy shell stuffed with potatoes, chickpeas, spices, or chillies and is served with flavored waters.[6]
