Moff Panaka's gift in the Emperor's quarters onboard the second Death Star II
At some point before his death in 3 BBY,[1] Moff Quarsh Panaka gave a statue to his liege, Emperor Palpatine.[2] By 4 ABY,[3] the Emperor kept it among several other works of art in his receiving chamber while staying onboard the second Death Star battle station.[2]
Behind the scenes
Moff Panaka's gift originated in the Legends reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy (2004), and was canonized in the updated 2016 Star Wars: Complete Locations. It greatly resembles[2] the Goddess on the Throne, a Neolithic terracotta figurine that was found in Yugoslavia.[4]
