Pacara was a terrestrial[3] planet[5] located in the Pacara system in the galaxy's Mid Rim, in grid square J-15 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] By the time of the mission to Batuu during the First Order-Resistance War, Pacara housed a secret base for the Resistance, where General Leia Organa was once stationed.[3]
In 34 ABY[6], an Intersystem Transport Ship commanded by Lieutenant Bek lifted off from Batuu carrying new Resistance recruits intending to fly to Pacara. The ship was instead captured by forces of the First Order, eventually leading to a battle in space. After the battle, the recruits returned to the Batuu base.[3]
Behind the scenes
Pacara was first mentioned in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, an attraction for the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge land at Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios.[3] The Lucasfilm Story Group's Matt Martin later confirmed the spelling of the name via Twitter,[7] which was finally seen in print in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu. Both Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu and Star Wars Droids Guide to a Galaxy Far, Far Away place Pacara at grid square H-14; Star Wars Galaxy Map however, places Pacara at J-15.
