The PTB-625 planetary bomber was a model of bomber used by the Galactic Republic's naval forces during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems,[1] fought from 22 BBY to 19 BBY.[3] Constructed by Incom Corporation and Sublights Products Corporation[1] for planetary bombing,[2] the ship shared design similarities with the companies' NTB-630 naval bomber and lighter Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighter.[1] Like[2] its cousins,[1] the PTB-625 bomber saw deployment by the Republic in the Outer Rim Territories during the war.[2]

Behind the scenes

The PTB-625 planetary bomber was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in the 2018 Star Wars: Complete Vehicles reference book.[4] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the PTB-625 planetary bomber was introduced in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections, a 2005 reference book authored by Curtis Saxton.[5] It was later first depicted in Stay on Target, a 2014 supplement to the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[6] The 2018 release of Star Wars: Complete Vehicles is a near-to-complete reprint of Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections.[4][5]
