The Orthellin system lay in the Binarran Cloud, a part of the Colonies.[1] It was the origin point of[2] an affluent Orthellin royal mistress who at one point owned the luxury yacht Lady Luck.[3]

Behind the scenes

The Orthellin system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square M-9.[4]

The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (December 11, 2007): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Orthellin royal mistress in relation to the Orthellin system.
