Orryxian Catsblood was a popular[1] type of intoxicating beverage[2] from the Orryxia system[1] in the Outer Rim Territories.[3] It shared its name[2] with the Orryxians, a sentient feline species[4] from the selfsame system.[5] Orryxian Catsblood was not as well-known as some other beverages in the Outer Rim, but could be obtained by especially dedicated drinkers.[2]
Behind the scenes
Orryxian Catsblood was first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a supplement to West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Simon Smith and Eric S. Trautmann and published in 1993.[2]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Orryxia system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Orryxian species.
