Orryxians were an intelligent, sentient feline species[1] from the Orryxia system[2] in the Outer Rim Territories.[3] They were encountered often enough by the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Special Ops teams to acquire the nickname "Cats," though the Orryxians resented the colloquialism.[4] The popular[5] intoxicating[4] beverage Orryxian Catsblood, also from the Orryxia system, shared its name[5] with the Orryxian species.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Orryxians were first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a supplement to West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Simon Smith and Eric S. Trautmann and published in 1993.[4]
