- "Their lack of outer beauty is perfectly matched by their lack of inner beauty. I hate to be disparaging of an entire species, but if there are any Orincans overflowing with wit, charm, and kindness, I've yet to make their acquaintance."
- ―Leox Gyasi
The Orincans were a porcine sentient species[1] from the Orinca system in the Outer Rim Territories.[2] They appeared similar to Gamorreans, though had paler skin. The Orincans had a dislike for the Mizi, another sentient species from the same region. An Orincan starship was one of several vessels that became stranded on the Amaxine space station when hyperspace travel was limited after the Great Hyperspace Disaster. The Orincans came into conflict with a group of Mizi who were among the others stranded on the space station, though the two groups later celebrated together when travel to Coruscant was permitted.[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats the Orinca system as the location of one such homeworld with regard to the Orincan species.
