Organic gills were breathing apparatuses developed by the Mon Calamari species. The gills were made from cloned jellyfish tissue and could fit around the mouth of most species that could breathe the same air as the Mon Calamari. Each gill cost 200 credits and could last several weeks before they began to die.[1]
Behind the scenes
Organic gills were mentioned in Gadgets and Gear, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2019.[1]
