Oligtaz was a terrestrial celestial body[2] located in the Oligtaz system, in the Southern Core portion of the Core Worlds. It was the site of the Esraza Temple, which was known to the wider galaxy by 10,000 BBY. Early explorers described the structure as a reality-warping nexus that granted visitors the abilities of teleportation and farseeing.[1] By 43 ABY,[3] the temple lay in ruins, and researchers hypothesized that the structure had been situated above a cavern of lumni-spice.[1]
Behind the scenes
Oligtaz was first mentioned in Ray Winninger's 1989 West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game adventure Riders of the Maelstrom.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed it in grid square L-12.[1]
