Olfactory sensors provided droids with a sense of smell. COO cook droids used the sensors to determine the freshness of ingredients.[2] 3PO-series protocol droids were also equipped with olfactory sensors.[3] Olfactory sensors were part of the sensor array of a Viper probe droid.[4]
