Observation was the branch of CompForce. Despised by the military, CompForce Observers were officially seconded to military units to learn how the Imperial war machine functioned. In reality, they were spies who were placed to ensure that officers and enlisted personnel were showing proper respect to the tenets of the New Order. The fact that they were spies was an open secret, and officers and enlisted personnel alike hated having to pretend otherwise. Personnel knew not to insult Observers, as that ensured a quick end to their career.[1]
