Nutristicks were a type of ration meal that was protein-dense and sealed in gray rectangular containers with tear-off tops. During the High Republic Era, the Trade Federation had nutristicks available from dispensers on board its WD-2550 Whydah-class Yield Conveyer Fallon, with batch-based color coding on the packaging to help track freshness. The packets were also marked with a six-pointed emblem. The cost of the rations was deducted from the pay of mekneks who ate them on board the vessel, but the human meknek Verosha Aniseya developed a taste for them.[1] In 132 BBY,[2] she grabbed one from a dispenser outside her bunk room and tore it open, eating it as she spoke with her colleague Fillik.[3]
Behind the scenes
A nutristick first appeared in "Lost / Found,"[3] the first episode of the live-action television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired on Disney+ on June 4, 2024.[4] The rations were first identified in the 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
