A non-commissioned officer, or non-com for short, was a military officer who had not yet been given a commission. Non-commissioned officers were also referred to as NCOs.[1]

History

Noncoms existed in various armies.

In 5 ABY on Nar Shaddaa, while Kyle Katarn was after 8t88, the Imperial Remnant forces under Jerec moved against him. A ranking noncom led a band of stormtroopers, most of them gathered from cantinas and were a bit intoxicated; the noncom pointed out that Katarn had a death mark on his head, and would make them rich. Hearing his voice, Katarn noted that he talked to his underlings as if they were in a ground parade.[2]
