"Then damn him to the Nightlands."
―Lourna Dee, on Marchion Ro[1]

The Nightlands were an alleged location. The Twi'lek Lourna Dee, a Tempest Runner of the Nihil pirates, disparaged Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro by saying that he should be damned to the Nightlands.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Nightlands were first canonically mentioned in the 2022 audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Runner, written by Cavan Scott for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Nightlands were the night side of the tidally-locked Twi'lek homeworld of Ryloth, and first appeared in the 1997 junior novel Young Jedi Knights: Jedi Bounty, written by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta for the Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights series.[2] Ryloth in canon, as first depicted in the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is not tidally locked.[3]
