The Nebula Front was a radical political group opposed to vast corporate conglomerates.[3] In 33 BBY,[2] at a trade summit on Eriadu, the Nebula Front attempted to assassinate Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum of the Galactic Republic, and successfully assassinated the directorate of the Trade Federation.[1]

The attempt on his life was a brief popularity boost to Valorum, allowing him to pass a taxation proposal, and the death of the Trade Federation's leadership allowed Nute Gunray to ascend to power as Viceroy of the Trade Federation. Gunray, who leaned anti-Republic, replaced much of the leadership with like-minded individuals, thus planting the seeds for a later conflict between the two parties.[1]
