Naroon Cuthus was Jabba Desilijic Tiure's majordomo for decades. When he finally retired, the Hutt crime lord ordered Cuthus's assassination, lest he spill secrets to Jabba's enemies. Prior to his demise, Cuthus memorably persuaded the Ortolan musician Max Rebo to accept a lifetime contract under the terms of which his band would perform exclusively for Jabba in return for free food.
The death of Cuthus led to a competition between a Twi'lek named Bib Fortuna and a Human smuggler named Bidlo Kwerve for the post of Jabba's right-hand man.
