Nar Hypa was the barren and desolate desert moon of Mataou located in the Mataou system, Anoat sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Long before the Galactic Civil War, Nar Hypa served as a trading hub and spaceport for the Hutts. During the Age of the Empire, the Galactic Empire took control of the sector and repurposed Nar Hypa to store cargo and goods confiscated from smugglers and outlaws.[1]
During the Iron Blockade of the Anoat sector, the Empire operated at least four storage facilities on the moon. Having learned of those facilities, local gangster "Happy" Dapp enlisted the help of a young smuggler to rebuild an Imperial shuttle crashed on Hoth and use it to raid the four facilities for their wealth of supplies.[1]
