The Mountain Clan village was a series of cave dwellings established by the Mountain Clan in the mountains of the planet Dathomir. The village was led by a Matron.[1] In 20 BBY,[2] the Nightsister witch Morgan Elsbeth was rescued by the Mountain Clan after the massacre of the Nightsisters. Elsbeth later awoke in one of the village's cave dwellings in the care of the Mountain Clan Matron. The Matron led Elsbeth outside where she looked across the planet from the safety of the mountain and saw the scorched land around the Nightsister lair. The Matron told Elsbeth she was safe from the Separatists's droids in the protection of the Mountain Clan and their village.[1]

General Grievous deployed patrols of HMP droid gunships and probe droids to root out and kill any surviving Nightsisters who survived the Separatist invasion. The Matron instructed Elsbeth, as well as her daughter Nali to stay in the safety of the village and warned them not to fight back.[1]
