Morningfire was a Jedi General of the Jedi Order who led Vornskr Company, a clone trooper company within the Grand Army of the Republic, during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[1]
During the war, following the capture and enslavement of most the crew of a Republic military exploration ship on the Unknown Regions planet O'reen, Jedi General Morningfire led the clone troopers of Vornskr Company on a rescue mission to O'reen, which led to the death of the planet's ruling Magnus. Due to the Magnus' death, O'reen was eventually quarantined by the Galactic Senate in an attempt to control the planet's population, and to stop it from sharing military secrets and resources to the Confederacy.[1]

Morningfire was mentioned in The Unknown Regions, a hardcover supplement for the Star Wars Saga Edition roleplaying game, written by Sterling Hershey, Rodney Thompson, and Daniel Wallace,[1] and published by Wizards of the Coast on April 20, 2010.[3] Morningfire was created as a reference to freelance game designer Jonathan Stevens'[1] fan character and forum handle, Donovan Morningfire, making it one of the few fanon elements in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[2]
