Morenia's original captain

The title of this article is conjectural. Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

The original captain of the cruiser Morenia had been killed by 3 ABY^[1] after tasking the starship's protocol droid EY-E9 with finding a way to increase the ship's profits. To this end, EY threw the captain out the ship's airlock, replaced most of the crew with droids, and turned the Morenia into an underworld casino cruiser.^[2]

In 3 ABY,^[1] a human cleaner working on the Morenia claimed to have been present when EY spaced the captain while talking to the gambler Kay Vess while they were cleaning her room aboard the cruiser.^[2]

Behind the scenes

The captain was first mentioned in the "Wild Card" expansion for the video game Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment, published by Ubisoft,^[2] and released on November 21, 2024.^[3] In the expansion, the captain is mentioned in the game's databank entries and by a human cleaner after the player's request that Vess's room aboard the Morenia is cleaned. The interaction with the cleaner is part of one path players could take to acquire a universal keycard to the cruiser. However players who choose an alternate path to acquire the keycard or who walk away from the cleaner early can miss this dialog.^[2]
