Mollusk jerky was a type of jerky that was consumable by humans and Pijal varactyls. It could be made from mollusks,[1] creatures that typically possessed a shell-protected, meaty body.[2] During the Republic Era, mollusk jerky was considered a delicacy on the Inner Rim planet Pijal. Pijal's lord regent, the Jedi Rael Averross, found that he disliked the taste of the jerky.[1]

In 40 BBY,[3] near the royal palace on Pijal, Averross rode a Pijal varactyl and kept mollusk jerky in a gear basket attached to his riding mount. Before returning the creature to the palace stables, he fed it a large stick of mollusk jerky, which the varactyl enjoyed immensely.[1]
