Between around 8 BBY and 2 BBY,[4] the Wookiee Chewbacca undertook a mission to the planetoid Mollo Tanka to rescue his friend Han Solo, who had been captured by the Wookiee bounty hunter Krrsantan on behalf of Augustus Graves,[3] the CEO of the Corellian Engineering Corporation.[5] Graves sought the location of an urn that contained the ashes of[3] Krestrel D'Naran,[5] the archrival of Jabba Desilijic Tiure,[3] which he had previously sold the urn to former Sava Madelin Sun, who resided on the planet Antillion. Solo, Chewbacca, and a man who claimed to be Solo's father Ovan,[6] though in reality was the criminal Corbus Tyra,[1] who were also looking to recover the urn for Jabba, discovered about the sale and traveled to Antillion where Solo and Tyra were successfully able to locate the urn, though before they could leave with it, Krrsantan arrived,[2] stunned Tyra, and took Solo to his ship. Chewbacca engaged in a firefight with Krrsantan but the bounty hunter was able to escape, though not before Chewbacca placed a homing beacon on his ship.[3]
Chewbacca and Tyra followed Krrsantan to Mollo Tanka aboard the Millennium Falcon, though before Tyra could accompany Chewbacca on the rescue,[3] he pretended to be dazed by the stun blast, and Chewbacca left him aboard the Falcon. Chewbacca made his way to Graves' building, and after scaring off a pair of security guards, entered the building. The Wookiee made his way to Graves' office, where he discovered Solo being interrogated for the location of the urn. Krrsantan caught wind of Chewbacca's presence and fired at him. Chewbacca managed to avoid the blast, and engaged Krrsantan in a Wookiee death-duel. As the two fought, Chewbacca pulled out a thermal detonator and set it off at the feet of the bounty hunter, which allowed Chewbacca and Solo to fire at security guards before they made their escape from Graves' office. The two, being chased by Krrsantan and security guards, then made their way back to where the Millennium Falcon had been parked, only to discover that it had been stolen by Tyra.[1]
