A micro-chaff launcher fired chaff, a type of Electronic countermeasures that disrupted a missile's guidance system.[1] In 3 ABY[2] merchants working for the Miyuki Trade League sold emergency thrusters that were equipped with micro-chaff launchers. They sold for 2700 credits and could be equipped to a starship allowing it to more effectively dodge incoming missile attacks.[1]

In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess purchased emergency thrusters equipped with micro-chaff launcher from a Miyuki Trade League merchant for the her EML-850 light freighter.[1]

Behind the scenes

Micro-chaff launchers were first mentioned in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] They were mentioned in the description of the "Emergency Thrusters" passive system upgrade that players could purchase in the expansion.[1]
