"Water. But Melacon is an arid world…"
―Obi-Wan Kenobi[4]

Melacon was a world located in the Jalor system[4] within the Jalor sector[3] of the Mid Rim[1] and the New Territories[2] at the coordinates J-7 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It was an arid world, and it had no surface water.[4]

During a test organized by the Jedi Order for the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan Anakin Skywalker[4] in 26 BBY,[5] they apprehended the Anomid criminal Grynask Sanberge, who, unknown to them, was Jedi Master Mace Windu in disguise. The two Jedi attempted to track a broadcast sent to Sanberge, narrowing the location down to the Jalor system. As the sound of oceans could be heard in the recording, the Jedi disregarded Melacon.[4]

Behind the scenes

Melacon was mentioned in Choose Your Destiny: An Obi-Wan & Anakin Adventure, a novel in the Star Wars: Choose Your Destiny series written by Cavan Scott and published in 2019.[4]
