Mawan was a location[2] in the Mawan system of the Core Worlds that was found in Standard Galactic Grid on grid square M-11.[1] In 5 BBY,[3] Syril Karn returned to[2] his home planet Coruscant[4] after being fired from his job as a Deputy Inspector at Preox-Morlana on[2] the world[5] Morlana One. While walking through the Coruscant Eastern Spaceport, transport to Mawan was mentioned in Aurebesh on a viewscreen and available for passengers.[2]

Behind the scenes

Mawan was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a list of destinations in the Coruscant Spaceport scene in "Aldhani,"[2] the fourth episode of the first season of the television series Star Wars: Andor, which aired on September 28, 2022.[5] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet Mawan first appeared in the 2003 young-reader novel Jedi Quest: The Shadow Trap, the sixth book in the Star Wars: Jedi Quest novel series written by Jude Watson.[6] Mawan was later pictured in the 2012 Star Wars: Essential Guides third-generation reference book The Essential Reader's Companion, written by Pablo Hidalgo.[7]
